The track was written while dozing off in the wardrobe of the hotel, where I've been employed as a bellboy. Hence the cover art. Also a reference to The Who's track.
lyrics
This city's full of funny trends
And every bellboy has a band
He says he's going for the stars
His faith's already gone.
You know he knows he's reached the end
It's not the song for one last stand
I don't sing anything like that...
Don't scratch the surface of the boys,
However hip their sneakers are,
There's only ignorance and hate,
That makes'em intergrate.
We've got the looks, we've got the style
We hope this equals barbed wire
Are you afraid to face your ghosts?
'Cos they are all we've got.
You play it cool, walk on your ice
The void's just swallowed all your dice
But you don't know it yet...
Don't scratch the surface of the boys,
However hip their sneakers are,
There's only ignorance and hate,
That makes'em intergrate.
You never know what's in store for you
Just live it out
Keep breathing
Hanging on...
This city's full of funny trends
And every bellboy has a band
He says he's going for the stars
His faith's already gone.
You know he knows he's reached the end
It's not the song for one last stand
I don't sing anything like that...
I don't sing anything like that...
I don't sing anything like that...
